Keukenhof Guided Tours

Walk through the garden with a horticulturalist who can name every variety, explain the centuries-old Dutch bulb trade, and point out which growers won this year's award. Bus combos from Amsterdam, sunrise photography tours, and the boat ride through the bulb fields — pick the format that fits your trip.

Keukenhof works fine as a self-guided visit, but a guided tour adds context — the names of varieties, the history of the Dutch bulb trade, and an insider's eye for the year's best beds. Most visitors come on a half-day combo from Amsterdam that covers transport, entry and a guided walk. See our visitors guide for help choosing, and the best time to visit page for quieter slots.

Which tour should I pick?

If it's your first time, the bus + entry combo is the smoothest option — no parking stress, no driving, and you're free to wander the garden at your own pace. Pick a guided half-day if you want context on what you're seeing; the horticulturalists know which beds are this year's award winners and can name varieties on sight.

The bulb fields bike tour is the local favourite — most visitors only see Keukenhof itself, but the surrounding commercial fields stretch for kilometres and are arguably more spectacular than the curated garden. Cycling through them with a guide is the best way to see them.

All tours start from central Amsterdam (typically Damrak or RAI) or directly at the Keukenhof entrance. Arrive 15 minutes early to clear ticket scanning.
